AIZAWL, April 23: Hundreds of farmers in Mizoram
have received financial assistance from the Pradhan Mantri
Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKISAN) during the lockdown.
According to the BJP’s Mizoram unit, an amount of Rs
1,307.40 lakh has been transferred to the accounts of farmers across the State.
A PIB release said Lungtiawii of Khawbung in Champhai district is one such farmer who received Rs 2,000 under the PM-KISAN scheme.
“Lungtiawii said that she is
happy to receive Rs 2,000
during the lockdown. She has
used the money for farming
activities,” the release said.
Zodinpui of Kolasib Venglai also received Rs 2,000 in
her account under the
scheme. She thanked the
Centre for helping her during
the lockdown period.
Scores of farmers have also
received Rs 2,000 each in their
bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
BJP sources said Mizoram has also received Rs
268.88 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana
during the lockdown period.
