Rs 4 lakh for kin of Mizoram bridge collapse victim

RS 4 LAKH FOR KIN OF TUIRINI BRIDGE COLLAPSE VICTIMAIZAWL, Feb 14: Mizoram government has decided to give an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin of 48-year-old HC Lalfakzuala, who died in a bridge collapse on Tuesday. Lalfakzuala died while walking on the yet-to-be-completed Bailey bridge over Tuirini river, about 50 km east of Aizawl, on Tuesday. He and his nephew Laltleipuia (24) of Sesawng village were trying to walk across the bridge when it suddenly collapsed. Laltleipuia survived with injuries. 

The government also decided to pay the medical bills of the injured person. Home Minister R Lalzirliana, who takes the charge of chief minister, has constituted an inquiry commission with Aizawl district Deputy Commissionercum-District Magistrate A Muthamma as chairman.
