President Kovind to visit Tripura today
AGARTALA, June 6: President Ram Nath Kovind, who is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow, will inaugurate the four-lane national highway from Udaipur to Sabroom at Udaipur in Gomati district, official sources confirmed. He will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Tripureswari temple in Udaipur and offer prayers to Goddess Tripureswari, one of the 51 pithas of Sati. 

President Kovind to visit Tripura: During the visit, the President is also likely to hold a meeting with the Tripura Council of Ministers at the Raj Bhavan. Later in the evening, the President will be offered a gala civic reception at the Rabindra Bhavan where Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Mayor of the Agartala Municipal Corporation Dr Prafullajit Sinha and other dignitaries are expected to be present. 

President Kovind to visit Tripura: On the following day, the President will meet the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura, Ajay Rastogi, and two judges of the High Court of Tripura – Subhasish Talapatra and Arindam Lodh. 

The President will leave the State for Delhi on Friday. A trial run comprising three choppers of the Indian Air Force was conducted successfully from the Agartala airport to the Chandrapur Mini Stadium at Udaipur on Tuesday. A strong contingent of the President’s Guards has already arrived to check the security arrangements for the President’s visit. -Assam Tribune
