In order to make the Games fair and comprehensive, players from the 40 MLA Constituencies in state will compete in 32 different sport disciplines. Their identities will be cross-checked against their EPIC or Aadhar cards, in order to avoid any duplication. For each sport discipline, only one contestant from each district will be accepted.

However, the same contestant can take part in several disciplines if he or she desires; but there will be no special consideration while making the match schedules for the convenience of any player who might have opted to play under several disciplines, the Minister explained. The State Games is going to afford a lot of hidden talents from remote areas a good platform to display their skills, which will also make them easier to be spotted and further trained if necessary, he added.

The 3rd Mizoram State Games is slated to be held from 9th - 13th December in various sport venues in the capital Aizawl.
