AIZAWL, Sept 24: Lalramdina, of Darlak village in Mamit district of Mizoram, was brought to Mamit civil hospital on September 20 after a snake bite. Doctors declared him dead. Refusing to lose hope, his family and relatives sent for a traditional snake bite healer in Tanhril village near Aizawl. “The healer made all efforts to heal the man. The family and villagers had hopes of reviving him as the body did not get stiff like a normal body,” Mikaela, a villager said over phone.
However, instead of showing any sign of recovery, the body started to emit bad smell since yesterday. “The villager leaders and the family members made a decision on Saturday night that the body be buried on Sunday, four days after the doctors declared him dead,” he said. The body was buried at Darlak village today. Lalramdina is survived by his wife and four small kids.
