AIZAWL, Oct 7: A drug smuggler from Myanmar allegedly committed suicide in Champhai police custody on Thursday, a report here said. Police sources said Rohungliana, 37, a resident of Khawmawi village in neighbouring Myanmar, was found dead hanging inside the lock-up. He, along with a 38-year-old woman Lalnunmawii, of Zokhawthar village in MizoramMyanmar border, were arrested for possessing 19 gram of heroin and 5,800 methamphetamine tablets, together worth Rs 22 lakh, on Wednesday by Mizoram police and Assam Rifles. The were booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, while another criminal case was slapped against Rohungliana under 14 Foreigners Act.Smuggler commits suicide in Mizoram
