Mizoram Director General of Police Shri  SBK Singh visited Champhai yesterday. The DGP inaugurated newly constructed Children's Corner at Champhai Police Station, encouraged  the Police personnels  at Police Conference Hall and thereafter held a joint meeting with NGO's at Circuit House here at Champhai. And also DGP  visited Indo-Myanmar Border trade at Zokhawthar the previous day.

While inaugurating the Children's Corner,  the DGP pointed that the provision of  Children's Corner at Police Station implied  every rights has been taken cared and better facilities are set up in the Police Station. Expressing the enormous scopes of tourism and its allied activities in and around Champhai, DGP desired the assignment of  Tourist Police to coordinate  and  guide the tourists which would be  convenient in terms of safety measures is concerned. 

The Indo-Myanmar relationship at Border area at Zokhawthar under peaceful environment has shown a smooth bilateral relationship and this  has to be  maintained, he added. Stating that the Indo-Myanmar border point at Zokhawthar holds the key to the two countries relationship, he  mentioned that the upgradation of Goods carrying Truck  terminal, training of security personnels  and modernisation of facilities at sensitive border area are  the needs of the hour.

Shri SBK Singh also urged the NGO and Society to cooperate well with the Police Department in defending the illegal activities and  ensured the Police personnels  posted here at the border area will keep vigil and leave  no stone unturned to curb cross border illegal activities. ~DIPR
